Samantha Akkineni began this year with a special announcement of her upcoming film, Shaakuntalam. The mythological film, directed by Gunasekhar is based on a play named Shakuntala, written by Kalidasa. While Samantha plays the titular role, Malayalam actor Dev Mohan will play King Dushyanta of the Puru dynasty. In the film, Allu Arjun's daughter Allu Arha will be making her acting debut. She has been roped in to play the role of Prince Bharata. After the second wave of the novel coronavirus pandemic, Samantha resumed the film's shoot in June and has wrapped up the film in August. She took to social media to pen a sweet note for director Gunasekhar praising him.
And it’s a wrap on Shaakuntalam !!
