Shankar and Lyca Productions's peace talk fails

Director Shankar and Lyca Productions have been at loggerheads for the past few months. Lyca Productions revealed that they are disappointed with Shankar over the incompletion of Indian 2. Hence, Lyca filed a petition seeking a ban on Shankar from directing films before completing Indian 2. Shankar announced two films including a pan-India film with Ram Charan and a Hindi remake of Anniyan with Ranveer Singh. However, the Madras High Court said that they cannot ban Shankar from directing new films and asked the director and Lyca Productions to sort out their differences outside of court.

The case was heard today (April 28) and Shankar's counsel said that they were not able to come to a conclusion. While Shankar said that he will be able to complete the film from June to October, Lyca Production wanted him to complete the film in June. Shankar said that it is impossible to make an ensemble cast assemble and finish the film in just a month. The case has now been postponed to June. It is unclear if Shankar and Lyca Production would reach a consensus soon.
