Recently, director Shankar's elder daughter Aishwarya tied the knot with Tamil Nadu cricketer Rohit Damodaran. For his daughter's wedding, director Shankar booked a private resort on the East Coast Road in Mahabalipuram. Due to Covid-19 restrictions in place, Shankar invited only family members belonging to the bride and groom's side.

Rohit Damodaren is the son of a popular industrialist Damodaren and the owner of the Madurai Panthers team in the TNPL.
