Balu Varghese is an actor who has created his own fan base in a short span of time among the ranks of young actors. The Asif Ali-Balu Varghese combination was well received by the fans with open arms. Balu says that they are excellent friends outside movies as well. In an interview with Behind the Woods, Balu opened up about his relation with Asif Ali.

 
“My relationship with Asif started through film. That relationship has grown a lot now. We are more like brothers now than friends. It is a very good relationship. I occasionally use the word machan more and more. Asif was the one who explained to me the meanings of the word. He behaves like my dad at some point. Sometimes like my brother. It’s a fun relationship;” Balu said.
 
Balu Varghese entered Malayalam cinema by portraying Indrajith's childhood in the movie 'Chanth Pottu' directed by Lal Jose.
 
Later, Balu played the role of Lal in Prithviraj's Thalappavu. Balu Varghese's movie 'Honeybee' starring Asif and Bhavana has caught the attention of the audience. After Honeybee, Balu Varghese acted in several films. His lead role in the film Chunks was a big hit. Balu Varghese's lead role in the recently released film Operation Java was highly noted for his performance.
