South Indian Film Chamber Of Commerce Guarantees Smooth Release For The Telugu Version Of 'Varisu'
The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce has assured that the Telugu version of "Varisu," titled "Vaarasudu," will have a smooth release in Telugu states and will be given a proportional number of screens.
The major theatrical release of "Varisu," starring Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, has been announced for Pongal 2023. The movie will also have a Telugu dub called "Vaarasudu" that will be released at the same time. The Telugu version of "Varisu" previously ran into trouble since theatre owners were ordered to allocate more screens for Telugu films and not give precedence to dubbed movies during festival times by the Telugu Film Producer's Council a few days ago. Given Vijay's upcoming dubbed release in Telugu markets, "Varisu," and the success of his films in Telugu areas, this caused controversy.
Many Tamil filmmakers spoke out against the Telugu Producers Council's notice, and some of them refused to release Telugu movies in Tamil Nadu if "Varisu" was denied the chance to be screened in Telugu states. The Tamil Film Producer's Council has reportedly been promised by the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, which unites the four South Indian industries of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, that the Telugu version of "Varisu," titled "Vaarasudu," will have a smooth release in Telugu states and will be given a proportional number of screens.
Two important Telugu films, Waltair Veerayya by Chiranjeevi and Veera Simha Reddy by Nandamuri Balakrishna, are scheduled for release on Pongal, or Sankranti, in 2023. Ajith's "Thunivu" and "Varisu" will also compete at the box office, and Vijay will have one of his toughest competitions there.
