For his movie with Mahesh Babu, SS Rajamouli is in talks with Disney, a global heavyweight.
Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli's first film together will be an African Jungle Adventure. The pair will begin filming for the expensive action-packed comedy in the summer of 2023.
“SS Rajamouli has found a spot on the world map after RRR getting appreciated globally. Especially so in the USA. He has been getting offers from the West to helm international films. But he is sticking to the roots of making Indian films. The latest is that he is in talks with the global studio, Disney. Disney has shown interest in partnering on his next film with Mahesh Babu,” revealed a source close to the development.
The insider also maintains that Disney's wild adventures are like the genre of the Mahesh Babu movie. "Disney wants to profit from the fact that this is a genre with broad appeal. The negotiations are moving quickly. And if everything goes as planned, this will appear on Disney's global calendar in the upcoming year. The source added that it will come alongside the major Marvel Films and other mega-projects that Disney is funding".
“It’s a big collaboration, one of the biggest ever for Indian cinema, and things do take time. The financials and budget will be the highest ever for an Indian film.
SS Rajamouli wants to mount the film at a scale none can imagine. It’s a jungle adventure, but the story travels across the globe. He will be shooting in India, as well as in many countries across the world. The full-fledged prep work will begin once SS Rajamouli completes the Oscar campaign for RRR,” the source concluded.
SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s collaboration will be among the biggest ever. If Disney comes on board, it will get even bigger and better.
