Sulthan will release on April 2, confirms producer

Actor Karthi was last seen in Thambi, which released in 2019. He is yet to have a release since then. Though he has a few films in the pipeline, none of them could be completed on time due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. No, Karthi is waiting for the release of his upcoming film, Sulthan. Directed by Bakkiyaraj Kanndan, the commercial entertainer was slated to release in theatres on April 2. Due to the increase in the novel coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu, rumours were rife that Sulthan's release has been postponed to another date.

However, producer SR Prabhu took to Twitter to reveal that Sulthan will release as per plan and hasn't been postponed. He tweeted, "Many of our friends are asking whether we are releasing #Sulthan on 2nd April concerning Covid scenario. So far there is no change in that decision. We are sticking to the date! So pls Wear Mask, take proper precautions & wait to enjoy the max fun on-screen????#JaiSulthan (sic)." Sulthan marks Rashmika Mandanna's debut in Kollywood. The film also features Lal, Hareesh Perady and Yogi Babu in lead roles.
