Suriya was last seen in director Sudha Kongara Prasad's Soorarai Pottru, which released on Amazon Prime Video on Diwali 2020. He was recently diagnosed with the novel coronavirus in February 2020 and had to get hospitalised for treatment. On February 19, he tested negative for the novel coronavirus. Recently, Suriya was spotted with his wife Jyotika and the rest of his family members at the opening of a school. After a long time, Suriya has resumed the shooting of his upcoming film, which is directed by Pandiraj.
Suriya took to social media and wrote that it feels so good to be on the sets. He shared a beautiful picture of himself holding a pistol. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film features Priyanka Arul Mohan, Sathyaraj and Saranya Ponvannan in pivotal roles. The first schedule of Suriya's 40th film commenced sometime in Dindigul. The film has music composed by D Imman. Suriya also has director Vetri Maaran's Vaadi Vaasal.
