Suriya is playing a character that is based on the real-life hero who founded Air Deccan airline in Soorarai Pottru and this is the first film of Sudha with Suriya.
We are already aware that Suriya is currently awaiting the release of his next film Soorarai Pottru. Directed by Sudha Kongara, this film is getting dubbed into Telugu as Aakashame Nee Haddura. It was actually supposed to hit the screens on April 30th, but the release got postponed due to the ongoing lockdown. Meanwhile, to keep the fans entertained, the makers have released a making video the other day on Sun TV. In the video, it got revealed that the film will span over four timelines.
Going by the teaser, the film runs in four time periods- 1977, 1983, the 1990s and the early 2000s. The film ends during the early stages of the 2000s era. The makers have also set aircraft sets for the shoot of this film. Malayalam actress Aparna Balamurali is playing the female lead in this movie. Even though she is a Malayali, Aparna dubbed her own voice in the Tamil version. Suriya has also gone various physical transformations to give variations in every time period. Soorarai Pottru is heavily inspired by the story of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath.
The film also features iconic Telugu actor Mohan Babu in an important role. He played the role of Indian Air Force officer named Bhaktavatsalam Naidu, in the movie. His character will be the mentor for Suriya's role in the film. Soorarai Pottru is being produced jointly by 2D Entertainments and Shikya Entertainment. Meanwhile, Suriya has also signed his next film Aruvaa, which will get directed by Hari. It will go on floors once the lockdown gets over.
