Aaroor Dass, a scriptwriter for Tamil movies, passed away on November 20 in Chennai. The author was 91 years old when he died. He has made countless contributions to the Tamil film industry. Actor Kamal Haasan paid homage to the writer on Twitter. Kamal commended Aaroor Dass's works in a Tamil. He wrote, “He has made a mark in thousands of characters. Aaroor Dass wrote dialogues for my teachers, for me and for those who came after me. My heartfelt tribute to him.” Lyricist Vairamuthu and actor Sivakumar have also shared their tribute and paid their respects to the screenwriter.

He has written famous movies Penn Endral Penn, Pasamalar, Anbe Va, Thaai Sollai Thattadhe, Paarthal Pasi Theerum, Vettai Kaaran, and Deivamagan. He began writing when he was 16 years old. He has also contributed to numerous plays. Leading actors such MG Ramachandra, Sivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganesan, and others had worked with him.
