After the clapping campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a Light For India campaign a few days back. Modi asked each and every citizen of India to light diyas or candles or even mobile flashlights for nine minutes at 9 PM on the 5th of April. It was to support India's fight against the coronavirus. The whole country participated in this campaign last night. Even Tollywood celebrities have extended their support to Modi by participating in this campaign. Star actors like Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Daggubati Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, and Vijay Deverakonda have taken part in this event.

 
The picture of Telugu celebrities participating in the campaign is now going viral all over social media. Chiranjeevi posed with diyas along with all his family members. Even Allu Aravind and Allu Arjun lit up candles along with their family members. Namrata Shirodkar posted a picture of Mahesh Babu holding the Diya. Nagarjuna, Amala, and Akhil Akkineni have also lit up lights at their house. Venkatesh held candles on the terrace of his house. Vijay Deverakonda participated in the campaign along with his parents a younger brother Anand Deverakonda.
 
 
Ram Charan and Upasana have taken part in the campaign together. Mohan Babu lit up the candles with his son Manchu Vishnu. Other celebrities who have taken part in the campaign were Sai Kumar, Murali Mohan, Krishnam Raju, Karthikeya, Gopichand and Sampath Nandi.
 
Meanwhile, the cases of the coronavirus cases crossed 4000 in India. While 292 got recovered, 109 people have lost their lives. There are more than 3600 active cases in the country right now.
