Vasanth’s Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum Entered Tashkent International Film Festival
The movie Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum received another recognition from the international film festival. The anthology can be considered as a representation of new cinema from South India.
The film Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum, directed by Vasanth Sai, has recently been recognised with yet another award. On September 17, the prestigious Tashkent International Film Festival (TIFF) will screen the multi-award-winning movie. The movie, an anthology about the lives of three women from three different eras starring Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Kalieswari Sreenivasan, was just recently honoured with three honours at the 68th National Awards. Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, the best supporting actress, and best editing was awarded for Sreekar Prasad. It also won the best Tamil film award.
"Generally, when we do a film, while thinking about the story, we'd be thinking about the audience as well. With this film, I wanted to explore my artistic side 100 per cent. That's why I call this film straight-from-the-heart and a form of self-expression. I did it without any compromise and wanted to see where I could go with that approach," director Vasanth had said after the announcement of the National Awards.
The film will be screened on the celebratory occasion of 'Indian Cinema Days' at TIFF at 12 pm on September 17 at the Jizzakh musical-dramatical theatre. Director Vasanth has also been selected as a member for the Tashkent International Film Festival to represent Indian cinema on the world scale at the upcoming edition of the TIFF.
