Since the 2018 release of director Vetrimaaran's "Vada Chennai," which had Dhanush in the lead role, fans of the star actor and the lauded director have been impatiently awaiting the release of the movie's sequel, "Vada Chennai 2." The celebrated director has now revealed that his next project, following Vijay Sethupathi's "Viduthalai" and Suriya's "Vaadivaasal," will be "Vada Chennai 2." Earlier, Dhanush had stated that Vetrimaaran must decide when to make the much awaited sequel.
When director Vetrimaaran took the stage for the grand audio launch of Dhanush's latest film, Thiruchitrambalam, the audience yelled "Vada Chennai 2" nonstop. After the two films he is currently working on, he said on stage that his next project would be with Dhanush. The movie "Viduthalai," starring Vijay Sethupathi and Soori, is now under production. Vetrimaaran will thereafter begin work on Suriya's "Vaadivaasal."
Dhanush and director Vetri Maaran make up one of Kollywood's most popular duos. Dhanush, Aishwarya Rajesh, Andrea Jeremiah, Samuthirakani, Kishore, Daniel Balaji, and Ameer were featured in the epic gangster saga "Vada Chennai."
The production of "Vada Chennai 2" would take at least two years, according to Vetri Maaran. Therefore, it might take some time until fans see Dhanush in "Vada Chennai 2," also known as "Vada Chennai: The Rise of Anbu".
