Suriya was last seen in director Sudha Kongara Prasad's Soorarai Pottru, which released directly on Amazon Prime Video skipping theatrical release. He recently wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming short film with director Gautham Menon for Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan's anthology, Navarasa, which will release on Netflix. Now, Suriya is gearing up for the shooting of his upcoming film with director Pandiraj. As reported earlier, the film is tipped to be a rural entertainer with Priyanka Arul Mohan, Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan and Devadarshini in crucial roles.
Now, the latest development is that director Pandiraj has found the perfect villain for Suriya. It is said that he has roped in actor Vijay to play the main antagonist in the film. Vinay has played a menacing villain in Vishal's Thupparivaalan and will be seen as the antagonist in Sivarkarthikeyan's Doctor, which will release on March 26. The shooting of this untitled film is currently progressing at a brisk pace. Composer GV Prakash has been roped in to score the music for the film, which will be produced by Sun Pictures.
