Director Shankar's last project was 2.0 with Superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. The film, which was made on a Mammootty budget of nearly Rs 600 crore. However, the film didn't collect as much as its budget. He then started shooting Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, which is once again produced by Lyca Productions. Indian 2 came to an abrupt halt due to a freak crane accident at the film's shooting spot. The accident claimed the lives of three people and injured many others. After the accident, Covid-19 happened. Later, Shankar and Subaskaran of Lyca Productions got into a fight because of which the film's shooting never resumed.
Director Shankar went ahead and announced two big projects. This pushed Lyca Productions Subaskaran to file a case against Shankar. However, the two parties sorted out their problems and are now gearing up to resume the shooting. Now, reports suggest that Kamal Haasan and director Shankar will resume the shooting in December. Reportedly, Shankar will be completing the film in 100 days. It is reported that the Indian 2 shooting might delay Ram Charan's RC 15. The makers had wrapped up the first schedule of RC 15 in Pune recently. A stunt sequence was shot in this schedule.
