Chennai: BJP and the Hindu Front continue to protest in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry over DMK Deputy General Secretary A Raja's remarks against Sanatana Dharma. Incidents of violence were reported from various places during the hartal called by the Hindu front in Puducherry. Tamil Nadu Governor was part of the DMK's decision to politically oppose Ravi's praise of Sanatana Dharma. Raja's response was that Manusmriti is the basis of Sanatana Dharma and only Brahmanism can support it. DMK leader T.R. said that the governor, who was in a constitutional position, was practising religion. Balu is also accused.

 
The BJP is raising widespread protest against this. Protests were held by BJP workers alleging that the DMK's stance was anti-Hindu. A. Six vehicles, including five government buses, were vandalised by the Hartal supporters. Debt markets are closed.
