Shastri admitted getting annoyed with the constant chatter on the subject. The India head coach said that he has nothing but respect for Ganguly for what he has done for Indian cricket.
On asked if he doesn't get along with BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, India head coach Ravi Shastri said, "As far as Ganguly-Shastri game that goes...it's brilliant chaat and bhelpuri for media with Mirchi and masala."
He said, "What Ganguly has done as a cricketer, I have the utmost respect." "If people think I don't respect Ganguly, to hell with them," he added.
Ganguly's appointment as the BCCI president brought an end to the 3-year-long Lodha committee rule on the board. Since taking over the job, the former skipper organized India its first-ever day-night Test match. He is also working on revamping a few reforms including the tenure of an office-bearer in the board.
