It looks like the Team Indian star all-rounder Hardik Pandya should wait some more time to get back on the field. After a back injury, he underwent surgery and was training in nets for the past few weeks.
Now, Hardik Pandya failed mandatory fitness tests in Mumbai and got pulled out of India A squad for the tour of New Zealand. Tamil Nadu all-rounder Vijay Shankar got drafted into the team as Hardik's replacement.
"I was managing the back, tried everything possible not to get into surgery or anything. After trying everything, we came to the conclusion that it wasn't working. I noticed that I was not able to give my 100 per cent and that meant I was not doing justice to myself and the team. That is when I decided to go for the surgery," Hardik said previously.
The India ‘A' team doesn't undergo the Yo-Yo test anymore, but Pandya failed the mandatory fitness test that a player undergoes while making a comeback post-rehabilitation. Hardik last played an international match in September last year.
This is a body blow for Hardik and Team India and their biggest concern was the World T20 which touch wood is now in place.
