Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led the AP government's initiative to introduce the English medium in all the government schools from the next academic year that has been taken seriously by AP High Court. The court told that the students must get enough liberty to select the medium they want to pursue and that we can force them.
The high court made these comments after a petition got filed by an activist Srinivas. Even the Supreme Court's previous orders of enforced English medium education cited by it. Also, the court had warned that if the government officials ignore the court orders, there would be severe consequences.
In the next hearing, the High Court had asked the principal secretary of the education department to file a detailed affidavit. As this was not expected from the High Court, it is yet to see how the AP government is going to react on the court's latest twist.
