India lost to Newzealand by 6 wickets in their first warm-up match!
India has started their World Cup journey from where they left off in the previous outing of this mega-tournament. This kind of wicket against Pakistan in Champions Trophy final against Pakistan baffled Indian batting line-up.
New Zealand chased down the 180-run target with 77 balls remaining to hand India a six-wicket defeat in their first 2019 World Cup warm-up match today. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja top-scored for India with 54 runs off 50 deliveries, while 2015 World Cup's joint-highest wicket-taker Trent Boult took 4/33. Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor scored the fifties to take New Zealand home.
Some movement off the pitch and a little swing and seam collapsed the Indian tip order including Kohli which looks worrisome as India as has to face many quality bowling attacks than Newzealand in the main event. However, India can take some positives from that, in particular, the gutsy fifty from Jadeja and the Jasprit Bumrah's 1/2 from four overs.
New Zealand play their final warm-up against the West Indies in Bristol on Tuesday, and the same day India will face Bangladesh in Cardiff.
