Congress will hold a 'dharna' at Raj Ghat tomorrow from 2 pm to 8 pm against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and National Register of Citizens.

Congress' interim President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will lead the protest. Top leaders of the party including its former president Rahul Gandhi and it's General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are likely to participate in the ‘ satyagraha dharna’ till the evening.

The decision to hold the silent protest had taken by the top party leaders in a meeting held at Sonia Gandhi’s residence here on Saturday evening, they said.

The leaders initially decided to hold the protest at Rajghat as a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi on Sunday but later postponed it to Monday as permissions for the same had yet to acquire from the authorities, the sources added.

The Congress has decided to go against the government for using “brute” force against “silent and peaceful” protesters across the country and for “stopping” people from holding demonstrations against the new citizenship law and the National Register of Citizens (NRC), proposed to impose across the country.
