The entire Indian cricketing fraternity is well aware of the fact that the two former cricketers, Sourav Ganguly and Ravi Shastri do not get along. Ganguly and Shastri have been at loggerheads since the conclusion of India’s coach selection process in 2016.
During a recent press conference, former India captain Sourav Ganguly, who will take over as BCCI President on October 23, a reporter asked if he has spoken with Team India head coach Ravi Shastri. "Why, what has Ravi Shastri done now?” Ganguly responded. Ganguly himself burst into laughter after replying to the question.
In 2016, Ganguly and Shastri had a public row over the selection of the India coach. Ganguly, who is set to take over as BCCI president later this month, was a part of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) that was given the task of selecting the head coach. The CAC had eventually picked Anil Kumble over Shastri.
People support obviously is with Ganguly but Shastri was re-appointed as the head coach by the time Sourav elected as the President of BCCI and it will be interesting from now on.
