BJP MP and actor Sunny Deol on Thursday delivered his film dialogues like ‘Hindustan Zindabad tha, hai aur rahega’ and ‘tarikh-par-tarikh’ while campaigning for Haryana Minister Captain Abhimanyu.
“As I say ‘tarikh-par-tarikh’, remember the October 21 ‘tarikh’ (date)... we have to make Captain victorious,” Deol said while addressing the crowd. Polls in Haryana will take place on October 21.
"He helped me in Gurdaspur and gave me encouragement as I am new in this field (politics). Now, it is his turn, and I have come here to give him a boost,” the Gurdaspur MP said.
Olympic 2012 bronze medal-winning wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt expressed confidence of winning the Baroda seat in the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls. “If I win, the first thing I’ll fix is the problem of water here,” he said. On his campaign trail, The Quint spoke to Yogeshwar Dutt on a variety of topics ranging from his choice to join the BJP, employment, inflation, and his poll preparations.
When he got asked, why he joined BJP instead of Congress or any other party, he said, “Bharatiya Janta Party is a nationalist party and always gives a maximum priority to the nation. My thoughts coincide with that of the BJP. That is why I have become a part of the BJP family.” Notably, BJP has never won the Baroda seat and Congress has been ruling it for two consecutive terms.
