At least 20,414 drunk driving cases registered in Telangana's Hyderabad till September, police said. "[Among the cases booked] 3,823 have convicted and 1,084 driving licenses canceled by the concerned court," Anil Kumar, Additional Commissioner, Hyderabad Traffic Police said. He added that there has been a decline of 12% in road accident deaths this year.
“In Hyderabad city, we are conducting special (drive) against drunken driving and everyone knows that driving under the influence of alcohol is very dangerous to not only the person driving but to others also,” added ACP of Hyderabad.
Moreover, the official stated that there has been a decline in the number of road accidents due to drunken driving. However this huge number of drunk and driving cases is an alarming threat in a highly populated city like Hyderabad.

KCR, being a good friend of Jagan might adopt the policy of the Government’s control over liquor consumption in the state.
