A 60-year-old watchman had arrested in Mumbai after he threw a metal flute at a judge inside a courtroom. The court had scheduled to hear his brother's murder case later in the day when he entered the room wearing an advocate's attire. He said in the courtroom that it was Janmashtami, shouted 'Jai Shri Krishna' before throwing the flute.
A judge got attacked inside a courtroom in Mumbai on Thursday. The accused man had identified as Omkarnath Pandey. The man allegedly threw a flute at a judge in a courtroom in Mumbai when he was deposing in court as a witness.
The hearing of the case will get held later but Pandey entered the courtroom before the scheduled time. He was wearing the uniform of an advocate. Pandey declared in the courtroom that it was Janmashtami, shouted 'Jai Shri Krishna' and threw a metal flute towards the judge.
Pandey, however, missed his target and the flute hit the stenographer. The accused got arrested from the spot. He got booked under section 353 (assaulting a public servant) and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
