What is the specialty of Tandoori Chai?

Chai lovers, here's something for you! If you are someone who has a special liking for chai and can have it in almost any form, then tandoori chai is here to please your taste buds. Get over the regular tandoori paneer, tandoori roti and tandoori kebabs, as tandoori chai has made its way to the foodie sphere.

 
This recipe is inspired by a famous tea shop in Pune (Chai La Pune). Tandoori chai is a unique variety of Indian tea. In this recipe, tea is first prepared in the usual Indian way. After that, a clay pot is heated (usually in a Tandoor), and the prepared tea is poured into the clay pot so that it absorbs the flavors of the hot clay pot.
 
You must have heard of tandoori roti or tandoori chicken, but in Pune, you can find Tandoori chai in a restaurant named “Chai La”. This tea of smoky tandoori favours, which is available at only 20 rupees, has made foodies go crazy in a very short time. Amul Dilip Rajdev, a 29-year-old B.Sc. graduate and resident of Pune along with his cousin, Pramod Bankar, had inaugurated this special tea. This tea chain, which became popular in just two months, is now set to come soon to thirteen states in the country.
 
What makes this tea different from the others is its quirky preparation style, in combintion with its unique pot-flavoured and smoky aroma and taste.
