The local body elections in Andhra Pradesh have been postponed by six weeks. As a preventative measure against the spread of coronavirus, elections postponed. The candidates made almost all the arrangements for the elections so far. With the end of the elections by the end of March, there is a chance of getting Rs 5000 crores from the Central government. In some cases, the YCP candidates won by unanimous approval.
If the elections get completed by the end of March, AP will get funds from the Central government. If not, there will be no release of funds. That's the reason why the Chief Minister is so worried about it.
Now the state government decided to approach the Supreme Court. It seems like, there is no possibility of the change in the electoral committee's decision. If the court says to hold elections now, Jagan will be saved. Only the supreme court can save Jagan. As the coronavirus spread throughout the country there will be no change in the orders. The reason behind the electoral union's decision was the corona outbreak.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Neelam sahani wrote a letter to Election Commission. In the letter, she stated that the local body elections in the state should be conducted as per the schedule. She stated that the screening tests were being conducted on every single individual who was coming to the state from other countries. People are wondering why Jagan is bringing IPS and IAS's into frame. There are speculations in the state that, because of Jagan Neelam Sawhney is in long-leave up to now. Again Jagan brought her into the frame with this issue.
