Now, on a day when Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi raised a banner of revolt and directly attacked him and his son Lokesh Babu, Chandrababu had another serious shock.
Earlier, Naidu had called for an emergency meeting at his residence to discuss what to do if the YCP government decides to take down his residence. Devineni Uma, Kala Venkat Rao, and Buddha Venkanna attended the meeting but a few key leaders from the Kapu community skipped the meeting. Bonda Uma, Jyothula Nehru, and Vedavyas did not attend the meeting for unknown reasons. It says that these Kapu leaders will be joining BJP sooner or later and their earlier act is an example of the same.
Now, on a day when Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi raised a banner of revolt and directly attacked him and his son Lokesh Babu, Chandrababu had another serious shock. At least 15 of his elected MLAs have skipped his protest program in Vijayawada on the issue of sand quarrying. Of his total 23 MLAs, 15 reported absent and if these MLAs revolt, this could even be treated as a split and he would stand thoroughly isolated. What is more worrisome for Chandrababu is that even those who attended the Deeksha stayed there for just a few minutes before vanishing from the scene.
Among the ministers, who chose to skip the meeting are Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Vasupalli Ganesh, PGVR Naidu, Anagani Satyaprasad, G Butchaiah Chowdary, Payyavula Keshav, Gadde Rammohan, Balakrishna, Bendalam Ashok, and Vallabhaneni Vamsi. While Balakrishna, Butchaiah, and Keshav may have skipped the meetings because of their preoccupations, there are serious doubts about the other MLAs.
