The 67th National Film Awards was announced on March 22 evening at a press conference in Delhi. Nearly 500 films competeted in the Feature Film category. We had earlier reported that composer D Imman had won the Best Music (Songs) award for his exceptional work in Ajith's superhit film Viswasam. Directed by Siruthai Siva, Viswasam released in 2019 and became a blockbuster hit that year. The songs from the film, especially Kannana Kanney and Vaaney, were deemed chartbusters. Imman took to Twitter to thank the team of Viswasam, the jury and his fans for the honour and said that the award has now made him more responsible.
In another tweet, Imman revealed that he was congratulated by Rajinikanth, Ajith and Vijay. He wrote, "Elated with our dear superstar Rajini sir's kind gesture to make a call and congratulate me on winning the award! Also, deeply humbled with our dear Vijay annan's and our dear Ajith sir's personal wishes@ My musical journey kicstarted with Thamizhan for Vijay Annan@ And it becomes so special when he himself wishes for Viswasam's recognition ! (sic)."
