In a recent conversation about RRR, director SS Rajamouli described the film as a "Telugu film from the south of India," eliciting a wide range of comments on social media. RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, has been a big success with the Western audience. RRR won the award for Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu at the just concluded Golden Globes 2023. The RRR crew is now campaigning for an Oscar nomination for the film in Hollywood.

In a recent interview, SS Rajamouli was joined by star Jr NTR, and they discussed the film's reaction and how it became such a global phenomenon. They also discussed the process of shooting the song Naatu Naatu, and how difficult it was to complete the shot.

Ahead of the RRR screening, the director spoke to a group of journalists at the Directors Guild of America. Rajamouli stated when introducing his film, "This is not a Bollywood movie. This is a Telugu film from the south of India, where I come from. But I use songs to progress the film forward, move the story forward rather than stopping the film and giving you a piece of music or dance. I use those elements to move the story forward."

In an interview following the film's screening, Rajamouli was joined by Jr NTR for a discussion. During this, the actor discussed working with the filmmaker. He also talked about how grateful he is for the opportunity to be a part of the film.

RRR is a fictional story based on the lives of two real heroes and well-known revolutionaries. They are Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, set in the 1920s before independence. While Ram Charan portrayed Ram, Jr NTR, aka Tarak, played Bheem.
