Megastar Chiranjeevi was all set to take on the Telugu remake of hit Malayalam film Lucifer. Director Sujeeth of Saaho fame was brought in to work on the script for the remake. Sources say that Chiranjeevi heard Sujeeth’s narration and was not happy with it. Now, rumours of a director change are floating around. Sources said that VV Vinayak might replace Sujeeth. However, this seems unlikely. The latest reports say that Chiranjeevi is planning to shelf the Lucifer remake.
The Malayalam drama Lucifer was actor Prithviraj Sukumaran’s a directorial debut. The film was critically acclaimed and was a massive hit at the box office. Lucifer was the highest-grossing Malayalam film of the year 2019. Chiranjeevi who was eager to remake the film had announced the project at a press event for his 2019 epic drama flick Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Now, it seems like the film might get shelved for the time being.
Chiranjeevi is also planning to work with director Bobby. Sources say that the Megastar is going to give Bobby’s narration a shot. After listening to Bobby, Chiranjeevi will take a call on his next step. If Bobby’s narration impresses him, he might shelf the Lucifer remake and go ahead with Bobby’s project.
For now, Chiranjeevi is going to focus on his upcoming film Acharya. The makers of the social drama are now aiming for a 2021 release. The action entertainer also stars Kajal Aggarwal. Ram Charan is also going to appear in an important role in the film. Koratala Siva is directing social drama. Ram Charan is bankrolling the film under the Konidela Productions banner.
