Siddaramaiah scheduled to meet Rahul Gandhi at 3:30 PM in Delhi over KPCC President Post
Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to meet Rahul Gandhi at 3:30 PM in Delhi today. Siddaramaiah who had held talks with Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday, has extended his stay in the national capital by a day to meet Rahul Gandhi.
On Tuesday, Siddaramaiah met Sonia Gandhi and expressed his opinion on appointement of next KPCC president. Siddaramaiah had reportedly batted for a Lingayat leader to lead the KPCC. He is said to have supported MB Patil for KPCC president post. The former Chief Minister had also held talks with KC Venugopal, Ahmed Patel and AK Antony.
The former CM had resigned as CLP leader and Opposition leader following the debacle of Congress in recently held assembly bypolls in Karnataka.
Sources suggest Congress high command may continue Siddaramaiah as Leader of Opposition and CLP leader and announce a new KPCC president to replace Dinesh Gundu Rao.
DK Shivakumar, MB Patil, HK Patil, Krishna Byre Gowda, KH Muniyappa and Satish Jarkiholi are in the race for next KPCC president.
