The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections to be held next year. Also, the rift has emerged in the AIADMK party. On Saturday, ten senior Tamil Nadu ministers held an urgent meeting at the secretariat, headed by Minister D Jayakumar. Later, the ministers headed to Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam's (OPS) residence. As per sources, two issues were discussed in the meeting - first, on contesting elections with the BJP alliance, second, on deciding the Party's CM candidate.
