Karthi is one of the most popular and acclaimed actors in the Tamil Film Industry. He began working as an assistant director to acclaimed director and writer Mani Ratnam. He then made his acting debut with the Paruthiveera in 2007. The film was one of the most critically acclaimed films. Since then he has had a wonderful career with films like Naan Mahaan Alla, Madras, and Kaithi. He has primarily worked in Tamil Cinema. In a recent interview, Karthi revealed that he was offered the film Ninnu Kori by director Shiva Nirvana. However, Karthi was unable to star in the film due to some reasons. The film was then offered to Nani. Nani starred in the film opposite Nivetha Thomas.
Karthi said 'Shiva Nirvana has narrated the story of Ninnu Kori first to me and I was almost ok to do the project but some problem popped up and thus the director moved on to Natural Star Nani. The actor Nani scored a hit with the film Ninnu Kori and Shiva Nirvana was also praised for a decent debut.'
On the work front, Karthi was last seen in the 2019 film Thambi alongside stars Karthi, Jyothika, and Sathyaraj. Karthi is now looking forward to appearing in two films, Sultan and Ponniyin Selvan. Sulthan is a romance film that also stars Rashmika Mandanna. Bakkiyaraj Kannan is directing the film. Ponniyin Selva on the other hand is a historical drama written and directed by Mani Ratnam. The film has an ensemble cast of Sathyaraj, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Keerthy Suresh, and Karthi.
