Cyclone Thitli to cross the coast at Kalingapatnam
A deep depression in the Bay of Bengal has strengthened into a cyclone, and is expected to cross the coast between Gopalpuram and Kalingapatnam in Srikakulam. Described as Cyclone Thitli, it will make landfall with high speed winds and heavy rains. The sea near Srikakulam is already rough. Heavy rains are expected in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts, with high speed winds in other coastal areas. Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea until Friday. The cyclone might also wreck havoc in South Coastal Odisha.
