Adanga Maru aka Adangamaru is a Tamil action movie, directed by Karthik Thangavel. The cast of Adanga Maru aka Adangamaru includes Jayam Ravi,Raashi Khanna.
Subway (Jayam Ravi) is new to the job and he is a very sincere police officer who wants to go by the rules. He is sick of ‘obeying’ the orders of his higher officials which is mostly against the law.
One day, his team goes to the spot where a girl is found dead under mysterious ways. Something tells Subash that it is a murder and he goes on to find out details about the girl and the accused.
While doing so, he puts himself in grave danger and as expected something terrible happens.
Will Jayam Ravi nab the criminals? Will be become an IPS officer? Director Karthik Thangavel has weaved a gripping story around these questions.
Playing cop roles comes easy to Jayam Ravi. He is fit and convincing as an honest police officer. His expressions are just right and not overboard at all.
Raashi Khanna as Anitha plays the role of an understandable girlfriend who is not on Subhash’s ears always. Even though her screen time is minimum, she has delivered a neat performance.
It is so nice to see actor Babu Antony after a long time on-screen. His expressions make him look menacing.
Debutant Director Karthik Thangavel should be appreciated for choosing a script that spells out a much-needed message for the society. He has taken a relevant issue and has crafted a story around it.
The screenplay of Adanga Maru is brilliant that it keeps you on the edge of your seat all the time. The performances of the main and supporting characters aid the racy screenplay.
Composer Sam CS’s background score is what you need to hear for an intense cop thriller like Adanga Maru.
Though there is no one particular villain, Karthik has shown that a bunch of criminals are strong enough and inseparable when they are together.
The stunt sequences may look gory, but it has been choreographed in a brilliant manner.
Though the cat and mouse game between the antagonists and Subash are interesting to watch, it looks forced and staged sometimes.
Also, there are some minor logic loopholes that spoils the engaging factor. If Karthik had done away with them, it would have been a perfect thriller.
Karthik Thangavel’s Adanga Maru is a must watch for its intriguing screenplay and its social messages. Watch it for its brilliant performances.
