Renowned Hollywood director and global crew with a desi story turn out to be an intriguing formula for the movie ‘Junglee’. Helmed by American filmmaker Chuck Russell who raised to fame with Hollywood movies like The Mask, The Scorpion King and Eraser has made his Bollywood entry teaming up with Vidyut Jammwal as the main lead. The movie has hit the screens on Friday and has stuck the mark with its spellbinding action scenes, heart-wrenching sentiment and remarkable cinematography.
The plot of the movie starts with the beautiful bond shared between a kid named Raj and a baby elephant Bhola who grows up together in Chandrika elephant sanctuary, Odisha. Raj grows up to be a veterinary doctor while Bhola becomes the leader of his herd. Soon after Raj comes to visit his father after a long gap of ten years, he uncovers an international poaching racket. The story revolves around the consequences Raj faced to save his friend Bhola and his herd with the help of Meera, a journalist from Mumbai and Shankara, a mahout in the sanctuary.
Action sequences choreographed by Chung Chi Li who has worked with Jackie Chan in the 'Rush Hour' franchise impressed the action lovers. Vidyut Jammwal has proved himself to be one of the finest action heroes. Asha and Pooja who made their debut have done a decent job. Atul Kulkarni made his performance felt like the main antagonist. True to its theme, the film transports you to the calm of a jungle shot in the beautiful locales of an elephant reserve in Thailand.
