Bhoomi Movie:

Bhoomi movie marks Jayam Ravi's 25th film, a landmark film in his career. Though the film was ready about a year ago, the makers couldn't release it due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Later, Bhoomi's director Lakshman and others decided to release the film on Disney+ Hotstar Pongal (January 14). Apart from Jayam Ravi, Nidhhi Agerwal and Ronit Roy in the lead roles.

Bhoomi Movie Plot:

Bhoominathan aka Bhoomi (Jayam Ravi) is a NASA scientist who is all set for his expedition to Mars. As he decided to take a trip to his village before his expedition. As he reaches his village, he comes to know the plight of farmers and how the corporate sector plunders the groundwater resources.

Bhoomi Movie Review:

Director Lakshman and Jayam Ravi have earlier joined hands for two films and Bhoomi is their third venture. Ravi has truly trusted Lakshman with the story which is set in a village and talks about farmers. At a time when the country is witnessing the farmers protest, Bhoomi couldn't have come at a better time.

But, the question is was Bhoomi effective in conveying the message? Sadly not. Bhoomi sets up some interesting moments for the hero, but it falters when it comes to the screenplay. There is nothing new in Bhoomi as we have seen it all in other films of the same genre.

While Jayam Ravi has struggled to shoulder this film, it is bogged down by tepid writing. The reason for making him a NASA scientist is just over the top. Nidhhi Agerwal is just a prop in Bhoomi and her inexperience shows well in her expressions.

Bhoomi's strength is actor Ronit Roy's performance. Though his character is poorly sketched, he has given his best to salvage the bad writing. He has taken the effort to get the lip-sync right, which is better than many villains from other states.
