Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl Review - Analysis
Janhvi Kapoor shows that she is a beauty with brains with Gunjan Saxena as she plays a spirited young lady who went through a lot to realize her dream of becoming a fighter jet pilot. Presenting the story of India’s first fighter jet pilot is a commendable job and Karan Johar needs to be appreciated for the same for producing a film as honest as this one.
The director Sharan Sharma picks a novel subject and ensures that the film stays true to the theme. There are no unnecessary glorifications or hypes sequences just for the sake of it. Every subplot is generic and in alignment with the film’s premise.
Janhvi Kapoor has delivered a very impressive performance in the film. The way she emotes subtle emotions is commendable. As mentioned earlier, Janhvi shows the world that she is a beauty with brains.
The fighter pilot training track, the childhood subplot, and the final set of sequences form the emotional core of the film and they are handled with care, thus resulting in a well-rounded drama that has all bases covered. The story of a spirited young woman who goes through a lot right from a young age forms the core plot of Gunjan Saxena and it has been executed in an honest and true to the theme manner.
The fundamental aspect of Gunjan Saxena is the emotionally engraving female lead thread. The sensibilities of a lady who aspires to join the army and also that of her family are showcased warmly.
Gunjan Saxena is an honest and gripping tale of a woman’s willpower. The film is powered by a fine performance from Janhvi Kapoor and the emotionally driven story and narrative. It makes for a compelling watch.
