T'puram: 1,103 new COVID 19 cases have been reported in the state on Saturday, said a press release issued by the chief minister. This is the highest ever single-day spike the state has recorded. Among the new patients, 838 contracted the virus through contact. Meanwhile, 1,049 have recovered from the virus. In Thiruvananthapuram, 240 persons were infected while the number of cases breached 100 in Kozhikode (110), Kasargod (105) and Alappuzha (102). In Kollam, 80 people have been infected. These districts are followed by Ernakulam (79), Kottayam (77), Malappuram(68), Kannur (62), Pathanamthitta (52), Idukki (40), Thrissur (36), Palakkad (35) and Wayand (17).
