Bengaluru: Senior BJP leader and Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar died at a private hospital here in the early hours of Monday, party spokesman said. He was suffering from cancer and had returned from the US in October after treatment. Kumar, 59, is survived by wife Dr. Tejaswini and two daughters, Aiswarya and Vijetha, who were with him when he passed away. A six time parliament member, Kumar was a BJP MP from south Bengaluru constituency, serving as Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister in addition to Parliamentary Affairs. He was the former BJP state president in Karnataka.
