90 ML Tamil Movie Tagline:

Oviya disappoints with a lacklustre film.

90 ML Tamil Movie Story:

90ML was promoted as a film that propagates the idea of feminism. But, it’s trailer and promos were from that. However, the film was not just about women claiming equal rights in drinking, smoking pot and talking about their sex lives.
Four women live their mundane lives in an apartment and they get the friendship of Rita (Oviya) who is quite practical. She listens to the rants of these four women and the struggle in their life.
Rita promises them that she’d help them to solve their personal problems. This happens over several rounds of drinks. Will Rita succeed in the mission she has taken up?

90 ML Tamil Movie Performances:

Oviya as Rita is bold and practical in certain scenes. But she does overdo in several places and instances giving out a feel that she’s indeed a wannabe.
Other four actresses Bommu Lakshmi, Masoom Shankar, Shree Gopala and Monisha have played their parts well and there is nothing extraordinary about their performance.

90 ML Tamil Movie Positives:

It was good to see that director Anita Audrey didn’t just concentrate on women trash-talking but also had a storyline apart from their drinking sessions.
The film addresses several topical issues such as sex out of marriage, misunderstandings between a couple, same sex love, a relationship which involves lack of sex and so on.
The film is fun and interesting in parts and Oviya in a few places makes us route for her with her practical approaches in life.
A certain section of people might enjoy seeing girls have fun in a never seen before manner on screen. The director implies that sex is indeed a part of life and that talking about it shouldn’t be looked down.

90 ML Tamil Movie Negatives:

The film has a wafer-thin storyline and lacks the emotional connect that it needs to hold the attention of the audience.
Some of the double entendre dialogues are so cringeworthy that it is just the opposite of feminism, which is quite a sad thing for a film which advocates for women’s rights.
Anita Udeep’s screenplay for 90ML could have been better and sensible as it would have resulted in a much better film than a shoddy one.

90 ML Tamil Movie Verdict:

90ML is interesting in parts and tests your patience in a lot of places. If you’re willing to sit through the tough times, you might enjoy the film on and off.
