Bluff Master Tagline:
A good attempt with a few dents
Bluff Master Overview:
Passion can propel people to take risks. It gives them courage to follow their heart no matter what comes through. Satyadev’s story of zeal both on screen as a money swindler and off-screen as a man who quit his lucrative job to get into film business is applaudable. Satyadev’s significant roles in many roles and his outright struggle in getting into full-fledged acting and finally coming out as a commercial hero is a story worth telling the world.
The movie-Bluffmaster, a remake of Tamil movie Sathuranga Vettai is a relatively good attempt by this relatively new cast. A heist thriller keeps you gripped on and off but the efforts of the entire team will not go unnoticed. In other words, the movie trails on a simple story line with all the commercial movie elements that can help boost the film. Does it help? Let’s see.
Bluff Master Story:
Satyadev as Uttam is a con man, who dons different roles and identities to swindle money from vulnerable people. He is greedy and extremely passionate about nothing but money. On the other hand, Avani played by Nanditha Swetha is an innocent and naive girl, who falls in love with Uttam without knowing who is truly is. Well, Avani finally gets to the unmasked side of Uttam.
He aces at manipulating and fleecing people. He gives a reason behind his wrongdoings. It is as expected his hurtful childhood memory. He walks out of the jail just to plan another scam. He plans to rob a jewellery store along with the antagonist. And suddenly the moment of epiphany dawns upon him that money doesn’t serve much purpose in life if other true factors of lives are missing. This philosophical and sentimental scene is expected. Here is where he leaves everything behind to walk into the arms of Avani and be mothered by her. Will the villain spare him or will ge haunt him back? Will Uttam go back to cheating people and making money or plotting a scam or release what it is to toy around others and rupture their emotions frames the rest of the story.
Bluff Master Review:
Satyadev did start it off on a great note, keeping everyone intrigued with his actions and emotions until he got monotonous. One must appreciate his chutzpah and fluent dialogue delivery skills. It is good see an actor grow from being sidekicks in many movie to play a mainstream hero with ease and elan. If only he had shown some variations and layers in his style of acting, the movie would be been a little more interesting to watch. Of course the storyline too sounds drab after a point as it gets overwhelmed by lacklustre at certain pockets. Well, over all, the movie might not look seemless but it surely is riveting in bits and pieces. Nanditha too did a good job in maintaining the naivety her character demands. The comedy element in the movie is vapid and is for the esoteric people, especially not for those who love witty humour. It is quite elementary.
The cinematography and music is appealing and the screenplay is relatively good.
Bluff Master Verdict:
The movie does offer your entertainment if you go without any preconceived notions or expectations. It is enjoyable in bits and pieces.
