A half-baked adult comedy from Adith
Chikati Gadilo Chithakotudu Story:
Chikati Gadilo Chithakotudu is the Telugu remake of Director Santosh P Jayakumar’s Tamil film Iruttu Arayil Murattu Kuthu. The Telugu version directed by him is promoted as the first adult comedy in the language.
Chandu (Adith) has agreed to enter wedlock and meets Nikki Tamboli, who has been chosen by his parents. He is shocked when Nikki’s parents ask him to take her Bangkok to get to know her before marriage.
Chandu and Nikki are joined by friend Shiva (Mirchi Hemanth) and his girlfriend on the trip. They stay in a bungalow which is haunted by a ghost whose sole aim is to have physical intercourse with one of the guys.
Chikati Gadilo Chithakotudu Positives:
*Adith as Chandu seems to have had fun in the film and it is quite evident in his performance. As a fun-loving Guy, he has delivered a neat performance.
*Nikki Tamboli is the epitome of grace. She has aced her part and is a glamorous addition to the film. In raunchy outfits, she steals the show.
*Thagubothu Ramesh and Raghu Babu are the soul of the second half of Chikatigadilo Chilakottudu. They tickle the funny bones with their brilliant comedy timing.
*Hemanth and Sathyam Rajesh, too, have done a commendable job by playing sidekicks and entertaining the audience with their antics.
*Director Santhosh has to be lauded for taking up an adult comedy for his first film in Telugu. He has nailed it, particularly in the second half.
*While the first half starts on a slow note, the second half is written exceptionally well. Since it’s an adult film there are plenty of double entendre dialogues that appear throughout the film.
*Most of these double entendre dialogues have been placed well and it brings the roof down. In simple words, the film does stay true to its genre which is an adult comedy.
*The production value of Chikati Gadilo Chithakotudu is rich and it is clearly seen from the visuals. The cinematography too has aided the narrative well.
Chikati Gadilo Chithakotudu Negatives:
*Though Santosh Jayakumar had a good plot in hand, he sort of ruined it with a lackluster screenplay. The first half is pretty boring and might test the patience of the audience.
*Since the film is an adult comedy, the director has gone overboard in certain places. Some of the double entendre dialogues are too vulgar for its own good.
