Enai Noki Paayum Thota Movie Review
Enai Noki Paayum Thota Movie Review: Dhanush's film is imperfect but engaging.
Enai Noki Paayum Thota Movie Story:
Raghu (Dhanush) is about to get killed by a bunch of gangsters. As the bullet seers towards him, he takes us on a trip down the memory lane where he introduces the love of his life, Lekha (Megha Akash). It is Lekha who invites trouble at every point in time.
As they part ways, Lekha calls Raghu after four years and tells him that his long lost brother Thiru (Sasikumar) is in trouble. Raghu rushes to Thiru and Lekha's aide but realizes he is also stuck neck-deep in a sensitive problem. How he comes out of the problem forms the rest of the story.
Enai Noki Paayum Thota Movie Performance:
Dhanush as a 25-year-old youngster is impeccable with his acting. He is perfect at playing 40-year-old Sivasaamy and can also nail characters in their 20s. It goes on to say what a brilliant actor Dhanush is.
Megha Akash is a pleasant surprise in Enai Noki Paayum Thota. As shown in the film, she is divine and emotes with her eyes. She has portrayed the vulnerable Lekha with utmost conviction.
Senthil Veerasamy as the cunning and crooked Kuberan looks menacing. His performance too is fascinating and for a first-time actor, his work has elevated Enai Noki Paayum Thota to a different level.
The supporting characters played by Arjun Chidambaram and Sunainaa are perfect for the story. Special mention to Sasikumar's extended cameo which steers the story in the right direction.
Enai Noki Paayum Thota Movie Positives:
After a long wait, director Gautham Vasudev Menon is truly back and the film Enai Noki Paayum Thota has him stamped all over it. His trademark style is visible in each and every frame.
The first half of Enai Noki Paayum Thota is a breezy romantic entertainer and it works mainly because of the chemistry between Megha Akash and Dhanush. They give some serious relationship goals to fans.
Even though the film got delayed for a good three years, the story still remains relevant and it is the reason why the film works for the most part. The first half had filled with voice-overs, romance, and action.
Music by Darbuka Siva is as effective as Dhanush's performance. It is safe to say that Enai Noki Paayum Thota wouldn't be what it is today without Darbuka Siva's brilliant work.
Enai Noki Paayum Thota Movie Negatives:
The story of Enai Noki Paayum Thota is cliched and in the second half, it just goes around in loops. The second half got overstretched which will bore you out and want the film to end soon.
Gautham Menon has not concentrated much on the villain's characterization. Even though Senthil Veerasamy has performed to his best, he was not given arresting sequences that could have enhanced the film's overall mood.
Enai Noki Paayum Thota Movie Verdict:
Gautham Menon is back in form with Enai Noki Paayum Thota. Let's face it, the film is not perfect and has a lot of convenient coincidental events that will make you question logic. However, it also has some arresting moments that will help you fall in love with the story.
