Jodi is a Telugu movie starring Aadi and Shraddha Srinath in prominent roles. It is a drama directed by Vishwanath.
Outdated and pointless film
Jodi is a story of a software employee Kapil(Aadi) who eventually falls in love with Kanchanamala(Shraddha Srinath). Just when everything seems to be going good, his father's addiction for gambling comes as a hurdle for his love life as Kanchanamala’s father rejects the marriage proposal citing Kapil’s dad(Naresh) as a problem.
How will Kapil solve this issue and win Kanchanamala’s hand? That forms the rest of the story.
Aadi looks good and has improved from his previous films, But Jodi is of no help to him in any form. He should be more choosy with the films and choice of roles.
Technically Jodi is Shraddha Srinath’s debut film in Telugu. Always known for her impressive acting skills he does a fine job in Jodi. Unlike her previous movies, she has been showcased glamorously in songs.
Veteran actor Naresh does a good job. He is seen as a cricket betting addict, Though the story revolves around Naresh's role his character is poorly written.
It was good to see Gollapudi Maruthi Rao in a prominent role
Satya and Vennela Kishore are decent enough and tried to save this sinking ship but the comedy doesn’t work as the narrative is outdated.
Pradeep is fine as a bad guy.
There is nothing much to talk about the positives in this pointless movie as there is no depth in the story or any of the characters.
The first half of the film is ok with has a few decent emotions and romance between the lead pair.
Outdated plot and boring screenplay is the major drawback of the Jodi.
The second half of the film is Intolerable with forced emotions, silly comedy and senseless scenes which really tests your patience at the time.
Jodi is one of the most pointless films of the year. One would wonder what is the need of making this film in the first place. Director Viswanath Arigela must be appreciated for convincing the producers to invest so much into the film with zero scripts and also for onboarding talented actors. On the whole, Jodi is a very outdated family drama which will end up as yet another disappointment for Aadi. Avoid it even when it is streaming online for free.
