Meeku Maathrame Cheptha Movie Summary:

Rakesh (Tharun Bhascker) is a boy-next-door who is all set to tie the knot with his lady love in a couple of days. However, he is in for the shock of his life when an inappropriate clip of Rakesh finds its way online.
The video clip could ruin his marriage with him. So, Rakesh with his partner in crime (played by Abhinav Gomatam) does all it takes to remove the clip from the web. How do they come out of this mess forms the rest of the story?

Meeku Maathrame Cheptha Movie Performances:

Tharun Bhascker is not new to acting as he did cameo roles in Mahanati and recently in Falaknuma Das well. This time, he takes up the ante to play a full-fledged role and exceeds to an extent.
Abhinav Gomatam is more or less like the second lead in Meeku Maathrame Chepta and he does a perfect job as the hero’s sidekick in generating comedy after comedy to keep the film going.
Vani Bhojan makes her debut in Telugu with this film. However, her characterisation does not let the audience love her. It lacks depth and hence it is safe to say that it’s a bad beginning for the actress.
Anasuya Bharadwaj, one of the better-known faces in Telugu has a brief role in the film and as usual, she delivered her best.

Meeku Maathrame Cheptha Movie Positives:

The story of director Shammeer Sultan is simple, and that’s where the struggle lies. Taking a simple storyline and working through the screenplay with details is the strength of Meeku Mathrame Chepta.
The first half of the film offers sporadic laughs, and it mostly depends on Tharun and Abhinav Gomatam. A lot of comedy one-liners lands well, thereby proving its worth.
The runtime of Meeku Maathrame Cheptha is a blessing in disguise. Since the storyline is simple, stretching it for more than 2 hours will bore the audience.

Meeku Maathrame Cheptha Movie Negatives:

Meeku Maathrame Cheptha had the potential to be a light-hearted comedy. However, its premise was wasted by the lack of detail. The comedy becomes repetitive, and the timing is off in most places.
Shammeer’s introduction of ‘twists’ in the film backfired majorly. While one twist worked to an extent, the other one felt completely out of place, which is a major letdown.
Tharun Bhascker’s acting is good, but not effortless. Throughout the film, it looks like he’s trying too hard.
Sivakumar’s music when heard without the visuals are fun mainly because of the lyrics. However, it didn’t create much impact when heard with the visuals.

Meeku Maathrame Cheptha Movie Verdict:

Meeku Maathrame Cheptha movie marks Vijay Deverakonda’s maiden production venture. While his script selection deserves applause, the execution falters. The film turns out to be a boring and bland film that only offers a few laughs here and there.
