Eeswaran Movie:

Over the past few years, Simbu has been struggling to give a hit. However, during the lockdown, he decided to lose weight and undergo physical transformation. Post this, he signed Eeswaran with director Suseenthiran, which released in theatres on Pongal.

Eeswaran Movie Plot:

An astrologer predicts the death of Periyasaamy's (Bharathiraja) wife and it happens. Post her demise, Priyasaamy brings up his kids on his own and settles them in life. His only request to the kids is to visit him every year on their mother's death anniversary. During the lockdown, his four kids decided to spend a months time in the village.

Periyasaamy's caretaker Eeswaran (Simbu) makes grand arrangement for this reunion. But, trouble begins when a rape accused who has served his time in prison because of Periyasamy issues death threats to the family.

Eeswaran Movie Review:

Director Suseenthiran's Eeswaran promised to be a proper festival entertainer. Though the story has nothing to offer, Eeswaran turns out to be decent film that can make you sit through it. Simbu is the soul of the film and it is good to see him at his charming best.

Simbu's transfromation has helped him gain confidence in life and it reflects on screen. Another good thing about Eeswaran is that the film doesn't glorify Simbu, the actor, in the film. Simbu and Bala Saravanan's comedy track work well and it is their comed that makes the cliched tale a bit interesting. However, Eeswaran suffers because it lacks emotional connect and the intensity. Bharathiraja and Manoj Bharathiraja's performance as Periyasamy are one of the plus points. It is S Thaman's music and background score that enhaced Eeswaran to a different level. Be it emotional sequences or the action blocks, Thaman has given his bext work in Eeswaran.

Eeswaran Movie Verdict:

Overall, Eeswaran is a one time watch and an engaging rural drama that caters to family audience this festive season.
