Harish Kalyan who essays the role of Gowtham has anger management issues. During a fight, he meets Shilpa and over time the couple falls in love. Shilpa’s character is in stark contrast to that of Gowtham.
However, the two are forced to separate due to circumstances. Gowtham who couldn’t control his emotions goes to the extent of killing her. What happens to Shilpa? Will Gowtham and Shilpa end up with each other? Will Gowtham be able to control his anger?
Harish Kyan has been in the industry for several years. However, it was Bigg Boss which brought him name and fame. Post Bigg Boss, he impressed the audience with Pyaar Prema Kadhal. Now, with Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum, he has once again scored a hit.
Shilpa Manjunath managed to grab the audience’s attention in her brief role in director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi’s Kaali. She appeared as a village belle in Kaali and in this film, her character is completely opposite. She is fierce, elegant and independent.
Ma Ka Pa Anand should be applauded as he shifted gears from doing hero roles which didn’t work in his favour. In this film, he keeps the audience in splits when he appears on-screen.
Bala Saravanan, on his part, has delivered a neat performance, which is memorable and funny as well.
Director Ranjit Jeyakodi needs to be appreciated for choosing a simple story and delivering it with much conviction. As he described, Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum is a violent love story, different from all other love stories.
The trailer, as well as the film, reminds us of Arjun Reddy as both the lead characters are people who cannot control their anger. The resemblance is uncanny.
The first half of the film is written in such a way that keeps the audience hooked with the lead actor’s romance. The film will easily appeal to the youngsters of today.
The film also shows the dark side of a man who is undergoing a bad break up. Emotional sequences have been filmed very well.
Director Sam CS’s music were huge hits even before the film could hit the theatres. His songs aided to the performance and the mood of each and every scene.
The main drawback of Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum is its length second half. The director could have concentrated more on the screenplay to make it interesting like the first half.
In the second half, there are needless sequences that will test the patience levels of the audience.
Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum is Kollywood’s own Arjun Reddy with a twist. Despite its flaws, the film manages to impress the audience for the most part of the film.
