We may have seen a lot of love stories with a similar plot but the way director drove Uppena is different. Aashi (Vaisshnav Tej) falls in love with Bebamma (Krithi Shetty). Bebamma is the daughter of powerful and violent Rayanam (Vijay Sethupathi). Rayanam then creates trouble to their love-life. What did he do? How did they tackle it? What happens in the end? is the film's story.
Performances wise, all the actors of the movie did well. Vaishnav Tej has put a mesmerizing performance in this debut film. The actor is too good in emotional scenes. The romantic scenes stand as major highlight in the film. Vaishnav Tej looked fresh and his performance is so real without any shades of actors from his family. Krithi Shetty, the newcomer is equally good. She has a bright future in tollywood if she focuses on taking good scripts that can elevate the performer in her. Vijay Setupathi is extraordinary in the film. He has given his best for the movie. The actor has showed violence through his eyes and his performance will stay with us for a longer time.
Newcomer Buchi Babu Sana chose an old story and tried to give it a bold touch. His mentor Sukumar's mark is clearly visible in his execution. Some of the scenes have been dealt well but most of the others fail to create any impact. Vaishnav Tej's acting was decent but it is Krithi Shetty who steals the show. So is Vijay Sethupathi, who is menacing as the antagonist.
